Well consumer is spending is up. I know, I bought a Play Station 2.
How did this come about? I blame the Olympics. I took my DVD player back from my girl friends house when I bought my new TV. But since the Olympics started the rest of the TV channels have decided they aren’t even going to bother trying to put anything on so there isn’t anything at all to watch. So rather then buy a second DVD player for her house (silly to have two when we move in together) I got a DVD player/games machine. It was a toss up between a Halo-Box or a PS2 but the PS2 won out in the end.
Picked up a PS2, memory card and a game for $280. Had to pick up a second controller and some more games.
Games purchased:
Gran Turismo 3: A spec – The standard PS2 driving game.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds – Sequal to the X-Box game, now on more platforms with more characters to play as.
Max Payne 2 – “The pills would ease the pain” sequal to the popular game. The PS2 port aparently wasn’t the best but it was a bargain.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex – More for the girlfriend then me
Final Fantasy X – I don’t have a comment for this one.
Turned out to be a lot more expensive then a cheap DVD player, but here is hoping I get more enjoyment out of it then playing DVDs alone.
